This introductory workshop is for individuals thinking about starting a nonprofit organization. The purpose of this workshop is to give you enough information to make an informed decision about whether a nonprofit is really what you want to do and to help you understand the responsibilities and the process that leads to IRS tax exemption.

Complete the application process to get 501(c)(3) status from the IRS for your nonprofit organization. We provide intensive step-by-step instruction with hands-on coaching for those who want to complete the process themselves. We provide tips, tools and templates -everything you need to complete the application successfully.
You do the work. We review your documents after you have complete the application. The document review will includes a one-time, thorough one-hour review and/or written or oral feedback.
Requirement: All documents must be emailed. Review completed within 3-5 business days. Cost: $150 per application for a one hour review

As a rule, churches are automatically tax exempt.
Congress has enacted special tax laws that apply to churches, religious organizations and ministers in recognition of their unique status in American society and of their rights guaranteed by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.
Churches and religious organizations are generally exempt from income tax and receive other favorable treatment under the tax law; however, many people are often misinformed about what churches can and cannot do if they receive 501(c)(3) status.

The Nonprofit QuickStart© Program is an intensive hands-on program for founders and leaders of new nonprofit organizations who want to quickly learn how to operate the organization efficiently for maximum effectiveness. The program is also designed for individuals who want to learn how manage an existing nonprofit or those who want to make a career change and want to better understand how to operate a nonprofit organization. Participants who complete the Program may receive a Certificate in Nonprofit Operations.
Do you need a fiscal sponsor for your nonprofit organization? A fiscal sponsor is used when your nonprofit does not have its own 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. This is a common, legal procedure to help small nonprofits get started or sometimes for those who are operating a short term program or project and need the covering of another tax exempt organization. Fiscal sponsorship may be needed by some organizations to apply for grants and to accept tax deductible donations.
